Work Package 9
The aim of WP9 is to examine the integration of the social dimension into EU economic policies to deliver inclusive growth, based on a multilevel policy analysis, deliberation in focus forums, and expert interviews at the national and EU levels. The analytical focus is especially on the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR). The EPSR enshrined in EU’s regulatory architecture, incorporating 20 key principles aimed at promoting upward social convergence across Members States. Against this backdrop, the main objectives of WP9 are the following:
  1. Analyse the achievements and prospects of the EU in the design and functioning of policies for mitigating risks of poverty, precariousness and social exclusion.
  2. Examine the potential merits or pitfalls of the recent EU’s social policy actions.
  3. Explore the political dynamics underpinning supranational social initiatives.
Produce new knowledge about the mechanisms that may either facilitate or hamper the implementation of the EPSR.
