WP3 will critically assess the adequacy and suitability of existing EU social indicators and describe developments in poverty and social exclusion across Europe.
First, the team will propose how the EU and national governments can further develop their social indicators, identify secure, comparable and longitudinal data sources, so as to improve monitoring of the developments of European social policies and assessment tools for delivering Social Europe. This will include indicators suited to assess minimum income schemes for vulnerable population groups.
Second, EUROSHIP will provide a macro-level comparative analysis of poverty and social exclusion in Europe before, during and after the Great Recession, taking into account gender differences and intersectionality on risks of poverty and social exclusion
